Safety Critical Harsh Environment Micro-processing Evolution

The Goal
Bringing together a world-class consortium of UK industry and academia to develop the next generation of microprocessors for use in aerospace and other harsh environments.
Leading on delivery of simulation, flight demonstration, and flight evaluation for uncrewed aircraft.
The £37.5m investment program is co-funded by the ATI Programme, which funds civil aerospace research in the UK and is delivered in partnership with the Aerospace Technology Institute, the Department for Business & Trade, and Innovate UK.
Selected for our safety-first approach to deterministic autonomous systems, we recognise that a cyber-secure, high-integrity processor will be at the heart of the software-enabled aerospace systems of the future.
Traject is our connected, interoperable, and high-assurance Detect And Avoid. This functionality will be essential to the emerging Uncrewed Aviation Systems market.
As operations evolve and safety criticality increases, Traject is being developed and tested on the next generation of processors.
It is UTM interoperable, as demonstrated through integration with Via. This combination maximises safety through defences in depth.
